Interesting Fairoz, so you believe that religion gets you into Heaven? I don’t know of any verse in the Quran that states that. Can you provide it? And in the Bible, Christ in John 14:6 states that He is the way, the truth and the life and that no one comes to the father but through him. Personally I despise religion. Religion is what Christ and the apostle Paul railed against. Religion, and especially yours, is an anathema to God.

Kevin you say that the constitution doesn’t hive us right and you also said that Muslims should stop building mosques cause the 1st amendment doesn’t give anybody rights so tell me why do Americans build churches? who do american have the freedom of speech if the 1st amendment doesn’t give us any right. why do u have the right to talk non-sense on the internet if the 1st amendment doesn’t have us any rights. so what if Muslims have more mosques in the UNITED STATES then Christians having christian churches that just means that Muslims cherish there religion more than Christians cherish there religion. whenever its Sunday and its church day tell me why Americans wine about going to church or dont even go cause they have something else to do. but you were a Muslim you wouldnt mind going to mosque nothing in this life matters more than religion but apparently you Christians dont know that at the end of you life its religion that will guide you into heaven not work,games,school, or money.

I’m a bleeding heart liberal, patriotic American from San Francisco. Anyone who lives in the U.S., and does not revere the U.S. constitution and the Bill of Rights is no friend of mine.

I haven’t met many muslims in my life. Only three. The first, Mina, was an electrical engineer; the second, Ahmed, an architect; the third, Ginny, a musical therapist for disabled people. They were all kind, decent people who obeyed U.S. law and believed in treating women with respect.

From my acquaintance with these three muslims, I have come to the conclusion that moderate Muslims do indeed exist. Also, I found a group of American Muslims on the web who are very vocal in their support of the U.S. Constitution and our Bill of Rights: http://www.aifdemocracy.org/about/

However, certain types or aspects of Islam are troubling. Wahhabism and salafism, those versions of Islam that promote an extreme adherence to Sharia law, immediately spring to mind. Wahhabism is the type of Islam practiced in Saudi Arabia, and, unfortunately, its Saudi adherents are very enthusiastic evangelically and are very rich. They have spent billions of dollars around the world to send Wahhabi imans to teach a very strict view of the religion. Remember: 15 of the 19 terrorists from 9/11 were Saudi Wahhabists.

I disagree with the poster that Islam is a “theocracy.” As Ian mentioned above, a theocracy is a type of state. Iran and Saudi Arabia are theocracies. Islam is a religion. And like other religions, as long as its members adhere to the U.S. constitution and our laws, it is protected under the 1st Amendment.

Spot on. I hope it’s not too late. I’m 44 years old, and I never imagined I’d be seeing the things we are today. The saddest part, is those of us who do try to bring these things to light (the truth) are called bigots, haters (just like Jane Doe in the first comment). Unfortunately, most of the time, people don’t know what they have until it’s gone. Islam’s goal is for us to be “The United States of Islam” by 2050. At this rate, they’ll reach their goal well before 2050. But, I’ll never give up hope, and we cannot stop speaking out, so thank you for the article. Tonight is the first time I’ver read one of your writings, and I’ll be reading you regularly.

@Bill: The only racism I detect is in your comment. Who cares what “color” someone is? Islam consists of people of all colors, i.e., white, black, hispanic, etc. What you fail to realize is that Islam is a theocracy, not a religion; it’s a theo-political totalitarian regime with a biblical mandate to establish a worldwide Islamic caliphate implemented through both jihad and subversive means. The trilogy of Islam, i.e. the Quran, Hadith and Sira make up the body and head of Islam. They coexist equally. You can’t have one without the other. Unlike Christendom and Judaism, Islam stands in stark contrast to both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.
