Why Islam Should NOT Be Protected Under the US Constitution!

Contrary to conventional stupidity, Islam should NOT be protected under the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America. Is there anyone left in the three branches of government today that can interpret our most sacred document (the Declaration of Independence not withstanding) correctly?

Like in Christendom, where the exegesis and hermeneutics of certain passages of scripture are often skewed to conform to a particular ideology, agenda, or belief system, so too has the clear and concise language of the Constitution and the 27 Amendments progressively undergone exegetical attacks over the decades—depending on which party is in power—to conform to a particular political ideology.

But this is one hermeneutical battle America can ill afford to lose. Our founding principles, i.e. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness hang in the balance. In short—our country’s very survival depends on it.

America faces a grave threat from Islam. Muslims are infiltrating our country in droves and they’re doing it under the guise of “Constitutional Protection.” And like England, if we don’t stand our ground now, it will be too late. Muslims are cunning, crafty and clever. They’re using our ignorance of the understanding of our own Constitution against us, and they are clandestinely and methodically spreading their freedom-snatching tentacles in a quiet and unassuming manner.

Federal, state, and local governments on the other hand won’t acknowledge the imminent threat. They incorrectly claim that Muslims have “Constitutional Rights” to come here, proselytize people, build mosques, and implement Shariah Law in their communities and in the public square. They’re dead wrong! And by and large, Islam is getting away with it just like they have in Europe. Only unlike in Europe and Great Britain in particular, where many local non-Muslim citizens now live in perpetual fear and oppression, it’s not too late to stem the tide, but we have to act now. Time is not on our side. In fact, this may come as a shock, but there are more mosques being built on American soil than Christian churches. We are already well under way to being Islamized.

To understand Islam is to understand Sharia. The religion of Islam is nothing short of a totalitarian political, economic, military, social and legal system that’s camouflaged in religious garb. Their mandate (not objective) is to incorporate our country into a global Islamic caliphate.

Sadly, they are making serious inroads towards their tyrannical mandate because America is asleep at the wheel. We are all that stands between freedom and a worldwide Islamic caliphate. The United States of America is the world’s last bastion of hope.

Yet, the dreadful message we get from ignorant and incompetent lawmakers is that our Constitution renders us powerless to do anything about it. On the contrary, the Constitution and Declaration of Independence—properly interpreted—actually give our federal, state and local governments justification and authority to stop Islam dead in its tracks!

Here’s How . . .

Islam is NOT a religion. Islam—which stands for “submission” or “surrender”—is a totalitarian form of government that seeks COMPLETE DOMINANCE. It is hellbent on controlling every aspect of the lives of its adherents—a primitive life at that. It masquerades as a monotheistic religion rooted in Old Testament principles, but more appropriately follows the murderous thuggery of it’s founder, Muhammad, a descendent of Ishmael, born 600 years after Christ. Only their modern day tactics now include recruiting mentally ill teenagers and naive and gullible idiots who falsely believe they will be rewarded with 75 virgins if they become suicide bombers. And Western countries indoctrinated with the lies of multiculturalism and political correctness—to their demise—have reluctantly turned a blind eye. But like Communism, Marxism and Socialism, the Constitution of the United States of America empowers us to defeat it.

As lawyer, philosopher and Constitutional constructionist, Publius Huldah, succinctly points out in her paper, “God’s Gift of Unalienable Rights & Article VI of the Constitution: The Sword & Shield to Stop the Islamization of America, “We must understand Our Founding Principles – these are our Sword & Shield – that (1) Rights come from God alone, (2) Muslims do not have the right to divest us of our Rights, and (3) the purpose of civil government is to secure the Rights God gave us.”

What are our Rights, and where do they come from? The Constitution? The Bill of Rights? No! The Declaration of Independence says:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. —that to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men . . .”

So, where do our Rights come from? God. And what are those Rights? Life , Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Inscribed on the Liberty Bell is Leviticus 25:10 - “Proclaim LIBERTY throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof.”

Do Muslims respect the Rights God gave us? Of course not! Sharia stands in stark contrast to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Here’s why . . .

1.  Life: Islam is a culture of oppression and death, e.g., primitive and oppressive regulations for women, murder and honor killings. The Koran instructs its adherents under no uncertain terms to torture and kill non-believers as set out in Sura 4:56, 4:89, and 9:5 for example.

2.  Liberty: Islam is a culture of slavery and submission. Women are forced to cover their faces and frequently raped with no recourse. Children are often molested, and defection and conversion to another belief system often ends in brutal death.

3. Pursuit of Happiness: Does living in fear for a lot of Muslim women sound like the pursuit of happiness? Or being told when to pray, how to pray, and how many times to pray per day? For many Muslims, Islam is a culture of torture and sadism. How many times have we already heard of young Muslim girls in America who, after dating non-Muslim boys, were shot to death or run over by their father for allegedly bringing shame to their family? Public wife beating is commonplace. Women who don’t cover their hair are beaten on the spot. They’re often gang raped (needing multiple witnesses to testify against their male aggressors), mutilated, and left with maimed faces.

4.  Freedom of Speech: Try criticizing Islam in Saudi Arabia—one of our Arab allies. See how swiftly justice is met with your head as the ornament of of an Opec member’s Mercedes.

For every Right God gave us—not the Constitution or its Amendments—the Muslims seek to eradicate.

Lawmakers tell us Muslims have a First Amendment “Right” to build mosques, proselytize, and implement Sharia here. But that’s not what the First Amendment says.

It says . . .

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

Now consider the verbiage very carefully. A lot of lawmakers and most Americans make the exegetical error that the First Amendment grants us rights. The First Amendment doesn’t grant any rights to anybody. All it does is prohibit Congress from making laws about religion, speech, the press, or assembly.

Therefore, Muslims do not have a First Amendment “Right” to build mosques, proselytize, and implement Sharia in our country.

As Publius Huldah correctly points out, “Not only do Muslims claim the “right” to impose Shariah in the Muslim communities springing up throughout our Country, they also claim the “right” to impose Sharia law in the public square: They demand Sharia compliant financial institutions, foot baths in public places, that wine, sausages, and the like be banned from their presence, that they be allowed to shut down public streets for “prayers”, etc.”

So it begs the question: Do Americans have any Constitutional protection against the invasion of a foreign law being foisted upon us? Absolutely!

Article VI, Clause 2 of our Constitution states . . .

“This Constitution, and the laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the Supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every state shall be bound thereby, anything in the Constitution or laws of any state to the contrary notwithstanding.”

Did you get that? Our Constitution and Laws are authorized by the Supreme Law of this Land.

The practice of Sharia in the United States, at any level directly violates our Constitution. Muslims who therefore seek to overthrow our Constitution or otherwise usurp or circumvent it with Sharia law are guilty of Criminal Sedition. The federal government has the duty to prosecute them for sedition, or otherwise repatriate or deport them.

However, as evidenced in a ruling by a New Jersey judge last year  which was later overturned by the New Jersey Appellate Court, and more recently a Tampa judge thanks to the growing influence of CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations)—a pro-Sharia lobbyist—the very opposite is happening.

In November, 2010, an overwhelming majority of Oklahomans voted to amend their State Constitution to ban Sharia law and international law from the state’s courtrooms. But a federal judge overturned the will of the people within weeks, claiming that such an exclusion of Sharia law interfered with the religious liberties of Muslims. Now, legislators in Wyoming, Missouri, Alabama, Florida and Texas are considering adopting a similar Constitutional Amendment to that of Oklahoma’s.

Brigitte Gabriel, founder of Act! for America, an advocacy group established “to promote America’s national security and the defense of American democratic values against the assault of radical Islam,” emphasizes that voters must establish that the U.S. Constitution is the controlling law of the land. “We are trying to warn Americans to look at what’s happening in Europe. If Europe is any preview, we need to make sure we put up the barriers right now,” she stresses.

The Declaration of Independence says the purpose of civil government is to secure the Rights God gave us. Islam seeks to take away our God-given Rights. Civil government is supposed to protect us from enemies, foreign and domestic, who seek to divest us of our Rights. Therefore it’s incumbent on every American citizen to insist that our federal, state, and local governments immediately STOP the Islamization of OUR COUNTRY—starting with an immediate cease and desist on the construction of all mosques! The purpose of our civil government is to protect our GOD-given Rights, not circumvent them in favor of an Islamic caliphate.

Contrary to revisionist historians and secular progressive’s claims, the United States of America was founded on Christian principles. Jesus Christ is recognized not only as the Supreme Being of The Declaration of Independence, but also as the God of Article VII of our Constitution. . .

“Done in Convention by the Unanimous Consent of the States present the Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Seven . . . “

In Summary:

1. Our Rights come from God. They predate and preexist the Constitution. Our Constitution doesn’t give “Rights” to anybody. So Muslims don’t have “Constitutional Rights” to come to our Christian established country and build mosques, proselytize, and impose Shariah.

2.  Islam and Sharia seeks to take away from people the rights God gave them. Since our Declaration of Independence acknowledges that the purpose of civil governments is to secure our God-given Rights, it is the duty and responsibility of civil governments at all levels to protect us from Islamization.

3.  Article VI, Clause 2 of the U.S. Constitution—the “Supremacy Clause”—is the silver bullet that makes it unconstitutional for Muslims to practice Sharia Law anywhere in our Country.

To speak against First Amendment protection of an Islamic theocracy that is antithetical to the underlying principles of the US Constitution—Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness—does not make one a prejudiced bigot or racist. Most Muslims, like Christians, are moderate law abiding citizens. However, the percentage who follow the literal commands of the Koran (the militant and radical muslims) and because of the 2 to 1 worldwide population growth of Muslims, the jihadist terrorists are multiplying at an alarming rate.

Let me be perfectly clear. Traditional Islam is not a friend of America. It is our enemy. The very notion of “Chrislam”—a syncretistic fusion of Christianity and Islam—being promoted by such notable Christian celebrities as Rick Warren, author of the best selling book, The Purpose Driven Life, is an abomination. It’s anti-American, and antithetical to the Christian principles upon which our great nation was founded. It is imperative that you understand the inherent danger of multiculturalism, and the amalgamation of polarizing religions. It eventually leads to civil unrest and anarchy.

Most, but not all of our State Senators and Congressmen are completely oblivious to the imminent threat that Islam and Sharia pose to the sovereignty of our nation. It’s imperative that they get informed very quickly and embrace the fight to stop the spread of mosques and Sharia at the local level. The Center for Security Policy issued a report last year entitled: “Shariah: The Threat to America”. Demand that your local and state reps read it and take immediate action to defend your community from Islamization. A few proactive notables who do recognize it are representatives Rex Duncan, Don Wells, and Larry Metz of Oklahoma, Missouri, and Florida, respectively.

Since that time, he was nearly murdered and has multiple death threats against him, his wife and children for having the guts to exercise his God-given unalienable Rights.

Europe, in the interest of multiculturalism and political correctness, made a grave error. And now they are hopeless to reverse it, especially in England, without a civil and very bloody religious war. An entire country, even with it’s parliamentary government in tact, is now at the mercy of Muhammad and his warriors of death or submission.

Recently exonerated Dutch Member of Parliament, Geert Wilders, listed ten steps Western countries must take to stop the Islamization of their countries.

In closing, we are at war with a very evil and cunning enemy. An enemy that seeks to destroy everything that is good about the United States of America; Everything we value; Everything we cherish, Everything our forefathers and successive generations fought and died for so that we could receive the torch of freedom and pass it on to our children and grandchildren. This is our moment. It is our time to boldly stand up for our God, our Declaration of Independence, our Constitution, and our beloved Freedom! Let us exercise our God-given unalienable Rights and say “Yes to Freedom!” and “No to Oppression!” We owe it to our children, our grandchildren, and our grandparents.

    So, Jane Doe bravely comes in and makes a baseless comment made up of nothing more than an insult…how very liberal of her.

    Unlike many who are like Jane Doe above, I have delved into the Qur’an a bit. Though Islam uses a “religious cover”, it is nothing less than a full scale ideology of totalitarianism that encompasses every aspect of life, and death.

    Under Islam, Jane would not be allowed to express her view so freely. Nor would anyone else lest they face the executioner.

    It’s not big words that is the problem, it’s undereducated Americans who are constantly being dumbed down by publishers, editors, and the mass media. Hence the reason for our poor showing in reading and retention compared to other industrialized nations. I don’t have the liberty of asking the authors of some of the books I read to dumb it down for me. I grab a dictionary and look it up :-)

    Jane Doe. Jane Muslim. I find your statement as ignorant as those that have allowed this to happen in this country. The threat here is real and the method is to gain a majority hold in a country and then take over. This has been their tact for centuries. They have assumed the hard work of others as their own and lying, stealing and cheating are all acceptable in their religion as long as they are done to infidels and for jihad. Both of these environments exist in America

    I used to think I was falling much closer to the ‘conservative’ road, but have recently learned that I was waaaaaay off base. Moderate Constitutionalist, that’s me! That’s what the creators of our REPUBLIC were as well. It’s worth learning about.

    Well, like it or not, Islam IS a religion. Now granted, it IS a Religion that espouses ” a full scale ideology of totalitarianism that encompasses every aspect of life, and death.

    Now if it weren’t for the mandates in the “U.S. Constitution” it would sure be cool to just ‘run’em all out of here.’ I’d probably be all for that idea actually . . . except the Constitution prohibits me from doing so just because they worship a fictional deity.

    They actually have to do, or participate in some tangible way “something wrong”. We can’t just run them out of here for being Islamic.

    Can we stop letting them in? Sure, if they aren’t American citizens, and overall that’s probably a good idea. Can we make’em leave? Sure, and that is probably a good idea . . .unless they are Islamic American citizens who haven’t broken any laws that wouldn’t get me sent back to my ancestral Scotland.

    A lot of you folks wrap yourself in the Constitution as you claim to be defending the Constitution . .while advocating ignoring it or trying to make an end run around it by trying to claim the Islamic religion . . .isn’t a religion . . .which it is . . .even if it’s a bad one. Muslim Americans are just as free to advocate for Sharia Law as we are to advocate against it.

    Sure in Muslim Countries, they cut peoples hands off for stealing a chicken. In this country . . .we don’t, and we shouldn’t let them do it either. The “Well in their countries they” comparisons are moot, really.
    As long as they don’t do it in THIS country, they are free to be Islamic if they so choose.

    This is kinda scary to me. Seeing fellow Tea-Partiers talking like Nazis, even while complaining about Nazis . . . bizarre.

    Thank you Kevin! I will share your posts to all my friends and family members. Actually I am losing interest listening to TV with CNN and MSNBC.. and the lying media! Islam sure is evil and that is from someone who experienced their brutality as a young girl. I have always questioned how a god they call allah can be god if he commands them to kill and rape the unbelievers. Allah is comparable to Satan and Satan is allah.

    I just want to start by asking, how much do you actually know about Islam? If you knew even a little, you would know that only about 10-20% of Muslims follow Sharia law. You would also know the 5 pillars of Islam, they are:

    o Faith and the belief in the one-ness of God
    o Prayer
    o Charity
    o Fasting → reminder of humility
    o Pilgrimage

    Not horrible things. I believe that Christianity similarly asks you to do at least the first 3 of these things.

    I would also like to know what qualifications that you have, over government officials, to interpret the constitution?

    Honestly, I am more scared of people like YOU than Muslim people living in my community. I believe the most recent terrorist attack was from a right wing conservative, such as yourself in fact.

    And for all of you people who are commenting on this, this is my REAL name and I am WHITE and NON-MUSLIM and live in Australia. I just chose to educate myself about things rather than blindly hating something just because it’s different from what I know and I don’t understand it.

    This isn’t the truth, this is pure and utter ignorance and reading something like this makes me ashamed to be the same race as you.

    And to every one reading this as fact, maybe you should consider opening your eyes. A large majority of Muslims are just as peaceful as the large majority of Christians, but then there are some who take it too far, mostly that’s not even about religion but about feeling that they are not accepted in the society. Articles like this make it worse.

    Very good reply to Jane Doe. (Obviously not her real name). It is a shame that a high percentage of Americans, that are citizens, as I presume Jane is, do not even know the history of America, never mind our Constitution. If Jane would like to be under Sharia law, with no respect given women, who, may I add as cases we have recently seen hit the news, have such things as honor killing, physical mutilation of women, are allowed beatings by their husbands, and all such wonderful emancipation, then I think she should forego her US Citizenship and head for Iran.     Come on Ron! At what point does common sense come into play? Or have we as Americans flushed that down the toilet along with our balls and brains?

    Islam does not qualify as a “religion” under the First Amendment because it is in direct violation of Article VI – Clause 2. Buddhism does; Hinduism does; Atheism does; Secularism does, and a host of other “Isms” do because they’re not under a biblical mandate to conquer the world and either convert or kill every person that doesn’t comply. Those religions don’t contradict and purposely circumvent or otherwise usurp the tenants of our Constitution.

    Thank God our Constitution protects naivety and stupidity, but it doesn’t protect tyranny and anarchy! And that’s exactly what Islam is! Has God already turned us over to a reprobate or otherwise divine stupor? Has history and Neville Chamberlain, for example, not taught us anything? Sorry, but I’m with Churchill on this one. As General Paul Vallely, Founder of of Stand Up America recently wrote in an op-ed, “It’s time to wake the sleeping giant!” That’s you Ron.

    Are most Muslims peaceful? Yes, they are. I grew up with a couple of Muslim friends. One however, did turn radical when he began to really read his Koran and follow its mandates as a young adult. Thank God that, like most Christians, most Muslims don’t read the Koran. But they are out multiplying infidels 6 to 1, and the small but rapidly increasing percentage of what we mistakenly call “militant” or “radical” Islamists, will soon out number every Tom, Dick, and Harry on the planet.

    We can learn a lot from both old and recent history. Just look to Europe, and especially England. They welcomed—in the name of “multiculturalism” and “political correctness,”—Islamists to assimilate peacefully. And in very cunning and clandestine style, they eventually took over small communities first, then towns, and then cities. Then they say, “Screw your laws! We follow Allah’s laws!” And they dare any infidel or kafir to tell them otherwise. Because they know Western countries don’t have the balls to stop them, and they intimidate the local police force with an iron fist, often threatening to rape the cop’s wife and murder his children.

Sharia law will be our downfall if we do not act now to stop it and push it out of our courts, our schools and our government.     If adherents of Islam will allow the same tolerance and respect for others’ beliefs that mainline Christians do, then perhaps their presence is not as intolerable as you state.

    You bring up some excellent points, truly, about the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. But, I am not yet convinced that making any one people or affiliation the target of prosecution solves the problem any more than Nazi Germany’s blind flash-mob movements against the Jews during the 1930s and 40s–the Jews being the perceived problem.

    So, to test your position in the article above, I ask you to seek comments from Muslims, from Heavy Metal rock bands, the ACLU and others who are often driven to extremes from the intolerance of others. Perhaps their feedback would further confirm your position!

    Ultimately, if your defense of a Godly nation is from God, then what is genuine in it will stand fast. If not, neither you, nor the government, nor anything but the Mercy of God will bring peace. I was surprised by an omission in your presentation….Namely, that with the selfishness that accompanies the use of contraception, birth control, abortion, and euthanasia, you neglected to show the sheer power and strength of an Islamic political party under religious guise that rejects these forms of violence. What do I mean? Well, traditional Americans have contracepted themselves into minorities. They have left the US Constitution liable to rejection not from forceful takeover; rather, since the government is by the people, it could possibly be voted out legally–maybe even by Muslims. If you take your presentation to it’s terminal point, would you suggest that even the ACLU should be defending the rights of unborn children, future Americans who could and should vote for protecting the US Constitution?     But, is there a bias in your rhetoric that leaves distant the actual people (mothers, fathers, and children) of the religion you target? They are people, not just a presence of a political idea. How about a litmus test for the reality of your position?

    Since Heavy Metal rock bands have already desecrated Islam-obilia through tearing up and burning in the Bible the Torah, the Psalms, the Gospels of Jesus, and blasphemed God Almighty while praising the Devil, why have not Muslims killed them? If Muslims do not know this, why not tell them?

    Plato wrote of the powerful influence of music, the need to regulate it because of it’s influence on the youth…. read selections of ‘The Republic,’ and then watch and share some Youtube videos of the blashphemies of singers like Nergal (tearing the Bible to shreds, cursing God), and Marilyn Manson burning the same book. These people and their followers are not Muslims, a people whose tradition honors the writings of the Torah, the Psalms, the persons of Jesus and his Mother.

    Will you either comment on the omission I mention, or, at least invite the ACLU to defend the Muslims against Nergel, or you from the flash-mob prejudice that you are possibly inviting?

There’s a misconception going around that if you are against islam, you’re prejudice. Anyone who’s ever read our constitution, bill of rights, and Declaration of Independence and knows the belief system of islam, then knows that islamic beliefs are an enemy of our beliefs. Therefore, how can we be called ‘prejudice’?
    It is not ‘irrational’ to know that they are our enemy, that they wish us harm. It is not ‘bias’ as we know the facts. It is not ‘irrational hostility’ as they ARE our enemy. Since this expunges the definition of ‘prejudice’…I ask again, how can we be called ‘prejudice’. This is an enemy of our country and it is not only our right, it is our DUTY to do all that is needed in its defense. God help us.

    Your article hit the nail on head about Islam and Muslims. As a vet who fought in Desert Storm, I’ve seen those dirty bastards in action, and I would’ve blow them off the face of the earth if I could have. God knows, we tried! I hated that even poor-types drove around in Mercedes, and if you didn’t keep an eye (and weapon) on them, they would blow your ass off the face of the earth.

    The thought that this country is now being taken over, by these MFers, makes me ill! I’ve seen mosques in Florida and in other states where I’ve been during the last ten years. To see that they are demanding to have streets here in the U.S. blocked off for prayers, is totally nuts! I know how I would handle it. I’ve operated heavy artillery and I am an expert marksman. So why not eliminate as many as we can during prayers? They are praying to a false god anyway who couldn’t save their asses if he thought they were worth crap! They invaded our country and I say we take them out one mosque at a time. It is like we couldn’t stop them from the middle east, so they have taken over our country one city, town, and county at a time. We are total idiots if we allow them to continue to sneak in. We are under attack and it is happening from the inside out.

    It is too bad that you have to teach the constitution to ignorant dumb asses who haven’t bothered to learn it for themselves. As United States citizens, we should all know it.     “Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.

    34 “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn

    “‘a man against his father,
    a daughter against her mother,
    a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law—
    36 a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’

    That’s fairly explicit, as a sword is a weapon of battle and he is going to use it when turning people against each other i.e. believers versus non-believers.

    Luke 19:26-27

    26 “He replied, ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what they have will be taken away. 27 But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them—bring them here and kill them in front of me.’”

    Now, while this is a parable and Jesus is quoting another king, the actual context is that the king being quoted had been declared king, and this was the way he dealt with those against him. Jesus, at the time, was on his way to Jerusalem to declare himself the king, so one can easily understand that he wants the heads of non-believers to be brought to him, just as this king did.

    Now, while I gave you some good quotes from the New Testament, everything in the Old Testament still applies. At least if you follow the word of Jesus.

    Matthew 5:17

    17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

    So, do you follow Jesus and stone children who make fun of bald men as you are supposed to in the Old Testament (which was not abolished, according to Jesus)

    Also, interesting note on the subjugation of women. You right wingers seem to fixate sometimes on the whole head covering thing in Islam. It was actually stolen pretty directly from Christianity, as they see Jesus as a prophet of Allah.

    1 Corinthians 11:6

    6 For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head.

    Please don’t try to tell me about “in god we just”, it was not originally on our money, or the “Pledge” as it too originally did not have “God” in it.
    Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin were one of many NON-Christians who helped found this country on “freedom” of religion”.

    All that being said, I think Islam is just as screwed up as Christianity and just as extreme (the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, the Holocaust, etc.).

Should we allow men to have sex with their slaves, and have 4 wives? Should an arm of a thief be cut off? Should a Muslim who leaves his or her religion be killed? Of course not, but that is the Islamic Law which must be followed.

I doubt many Christians have read the bible at all – and these passages above (regardless if they are the new testament or not, it still falls under Christianity) are an example of how your religion is also violent.
    If you knew anything about what motivates terrorists you will find it has much more to do with social marginalization than anything else, which is why articles like this are much more of a problem than Muslim people living in our societies.

    I have read the Quran and it clearly states that the Will of Allah and Islam is to infiltrate and conquer all countries with subterfuge and lies. In this process the Quran states that Sharia Law is to be installed in all countries of the world as a replacement of all existing laws that are natural to that area and country.

When he came to earth, he made the Old Testament null and void for the most part.. No matter what a person did wrong, all they had to do was ACCEPT Jesus as their personal savior and repent of their sins, and they’d be forgiven… If you’ll notice, all of the comments you posted were from the Old Testament, which has no binding hold on any person, other than Hebrews, who hold that the Messiah has not yet came to earth..     *I* live in Dearborn, Michigan, and around eight years ago, while shopping for an engagement and wedding rings, the female sales associate (of the AMERICAN jewelers, J.B. Robinson, by the way), a Lebanese Muslim, who was UNCOVERED, by the way, saw fit to tell me to say, “Yes, sir,” and, “No, sir.” to my husband, not to say any “bad words” to him, and to cook all of his favorite Arabic foods, simply because he happens to also be a Lebanese Muslim. Speaking of “cooking”, my husband and I went to see the American Idol tour the year David Cook won the competition. Anyhow, I decided to get my hair and makeup done prior to the show. And, get ready for it, was forced into actually obtaining my husband’s PERMISSION before they did my makeup!!! Oh YEAH, the salon is owned by Arab Muslims, and every employee is an Arab Muslim. They’re even Sharia compliant, as half the salon is hid behind a curtain to cater to women who wear the hijab. Additionally, there are female ONLY salons here now. Then there’s the fact that the rooms in the local TAXPAYER FUNDED PUBLIC elementary school (my voting precinct, so TRUST me, I KNOW) are labeled in ARABIC SCRIPT, the local high school forces ALL of its football players to practice after 11 PM during Ramadan, and BOTH of the local AMERICAN KFC restaurants have gone “Halal”. THAT is the reality here in America NOW. You can tell everyone *else* that *they’re* “full of it”, ME, not so much. And since my disease has caused neuropathy (look it up, I can’t explain it very well) to take my legs and hands hostage, I can no longer wear pants anymore while at home (even when I have an MS “episode” and an ambulance is called to take me to the hospital, MALE EMT’s and all… OR write, so my husband does the actual physical act of voting FOR me, as in MY voting precinct, the ballots have little “ovals” next to each candidate’s name and the “yeses” and “nos” for issues/proposals, much like school tests that require a No. 2 pencil… and we sit at a table, side by side, while he whispers the choices to me, and fills in the ovals I tell him to. And, those choices are NEVER for Democrats, nor is it for where they stand on the issues/proposals. Our yard WAS the only one in the neighborhood to sport a Bush/Cheney sign in the 2004 election. LOL My GOP “membership” is something he’s known about since the day we met back in January of 2003. LOL Make no mistake, even HE has admitted to being the exception. And, if you don’t even LIVE IN America, kindly STAY OUT of AMERICAN politics. WoW… I can’t believe that actually needs to be said!     bostongraf and others: The court has ruled on more than one occasion that the actions of a religion were subject to the laws of the land. For example, Mormonism originally believed it acceptable for men to have multiple marriages; well you can BELIEVE that, but DOING it violates state laws. I can join a religion that believes that government officials are lizard aliens; but going out at shooting government officials as an expression of that faith is illegal.

    The difference with Islam is that they seek a completely separate legal system and it is their belief that peace will come when everyone is subject to their laws. They use binding arbitration provisions to establish Sharia courts with the state; Attorney Generals and Governors who are ill versed on Sharia either don’t argue to preclude these courts or they are inept at it, so these Sharia courts become established. Once established, a series of decisions establishes Sharia codes within the context of the laws of a nation. From there, those cases get cross applied to non-Sharia cases; judges who are unfamiliar or ill versed don’t often understand the ramifications of accepting those cases into the established legal precedent. That is how Sharia creeps into a state.

    It is instructive to note that most religions do not insist on their own court systems. The Hindus obey the established law of the land and do not seek to overturn the laws of those nations, unless of course they are Sharia. The Amish do not have their own court system, and appear in traditional American courts absent of binding arbitration provisions. Catholics do not seek their own courts; neither do Mormons, Baptists, or atheists. The only “religion” that seeks to overturn the laws of the land and establish a new political system is Islam. The reason for that is because Islam is the political/religious system of Sharia; it is does not warrent protection as a religion under the Bill of Rights. BTW: Jefferson was of a similar mind. Perhaps you all should read a bit of TJ.

    To the misguided and overly educated (I mean liberal brainwashed) zombies, Islam has nothing to do with religion. It’s a theocracy/terrorist organization that hides behind the mask of religion to accomplish its mission of world domination.

    Islam is a totalitarian “theo-political” belief system and social doctrine with mandates on every aspect of life. These demands are enforced and regulated via the brutal and murderous criminal and civil code known as Sharia Law. The precise definition of a Muslim is quite clear and easily understandable by a simple reading of the Qur’an. You are to be an Allah fearing, Qur’an believing, and Mohammed imitating belligerent zealot with an unrivaled bloodthirst. You are to force all others to become like you and if the infidel or apostate refuses to go along with the program you are to murder them.

    I believe any “religion” whose holy book commands its followers to commit crimes that are against the laws of this country, then that religion loses its tax exempt religious status, loses its 1st Amendment protection and should be banned from practice in the United States of America.

    As an iconoclastic Christian, I believe in the 1st Amendment right of people to worship or not worship whomever or whatever they want, but Islam does not constitute a religion. Therefore, it does not deserve 1st Amendment protection.

    In case you are not familiar with some of the condoned atrocities of Islam and Sharia law, are you aware that women are stoned to death for committing adultery and that gay men are hung? Or that the genitals of little girls are mutilated in order to protect her virginity and that children may be murdered in the name of family honor, and that bestiality is not only condoned but encouraged in the Qur’an.

    Read the Qur’an before you go blindly supporting an alleged religion that is allegedly protected under the 1st Amendment.

    Kevin, Islam is as much of a religion as Judaism and Christianity. If you actually read the Old Testament of the Bible, then you will find much of the “sharia” law. (If you need specific examples, I am willing to provide them).

    There are several items incorrect in your article:
    1)
    The Constitution, National Government laws, state government laws, and official treaties are the “Supreme Law of the land.” They are not authorized by the Supreme Law of the land (what you are implying to be God); they ARE the Supreme Law of the land.

    Quoted from the Constitution, Article 6, Section 2: “This Constitution, and the Laws This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.”

    I’ll make it easier to comprehend by reducing the selection.

    “This Constitution… shall be the supreme Law of the Land.”

    The structure of this selection from the constitution supports this logical reduction. You might be asking, “Why?” I answer: because the sentence can exist comprehensively without the dependent clauses in between. Hence, the main idea of the sentence is as previously stated “This Constitution shall be the supreme Law of the Land.”

    You, however, interpreted (incorrectly) the “supreme Law of the Land” as an authorizing agent when you say, “Our Constitution and laws are authorized by the Supreme Law of this Land.” Your interpretation is a clear departure from the logical structure of the sentence; nowhere in Article 6, Section 2 is there an expression of an authorizing agent. The plain and simple logic of “This Constitution shall be the supreme Law of the Land” can be translated into a clear equation because “shall” is the future tense of “is,” which is a verb of equivalence. Here is that equation:

    (Constitution) = (supreme Law of the Land)

    2)
    “The practice of sharia in the United States, at any level directly violates our Constitution.” This is a true statement. Due to the First Amendment and the 14th Amendment, the United States government (National and State) is not allowed to make any “law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” The establishment of shariah law (as well as explicitly “Christian” laws) would be struck down in any Federal Court as Unconstitutional due to these amendments.

    However, your statement “Muslims do not have a First Amendment ‘right’ to build mosques, proselytize, and implement shariah in our country” is wrong. Since the government can make no Law “prohibiting the free exercise [of religion],” the government is therefore not allowed to prohibit the building of mosques or proselytizing by Muslims. The government is similarly not allowed to prohibit the building of churches or proselytizing by Christians.

    3)
    You say, “Islam is NOT a religion in the sense we understand religion. Islam… is about COMPLETE DOMINANCE.” Christianity must also be about COMPLETE DOMINANCE because all I see these days are Christians trying to DOMINATE the country.     The only similarities in the Old Testament are the books of the pentateuch. But, my dear Hale, we are no longer under the law, although admittedly, many church-going Christians like to keep themselves under it in some capacity. The Old Covenant (Mosaic economy – Levitical Priesthood – Temple system) has been done away with for over 1900 years. We are in the New Covenant.

    There are many other errors I could point out in your rebuttal, but I’m not here to give you a free education beyond the schooling you’ve just received. How is that for a – what did you call it? Oh yeah: “pseudo-logical” reply.

    The constitution most definitely allows each of us to practice our own religion and build any house of worship we like.

    As far as the DoI, it never identifies a “GOD”. It states “Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God” and “are endowed by THEIR Creator “. I believe those are carefully chosen words as not establish a single named GOD. If they had wanted to do so, they would have most certainty used the phrase THE creator instead of “their creator”. This lets each of us to our own creator. Mine being nature and mother earth. Yours, the God of the bible and for Muslims, well also your God of the bible.

    This is backed up by the only mentions of religion in the constitution being prohibitions of making this a one religion christian nation. The first amendment the starts “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;” How clear can that be? Our government WILL NOT be involved in religion or interfere with anyone’s practice of it.

    And some of the last words of the constitution before it was presented to be ratified, in article VI say “no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States”. If our founding fathers were intent to make this christian nation ,where other religions did not enjoy the same rights and privileges, it seems strange they would make the last words “no religious Test shall ever be required”.

    Great care was taken as to NOT establish a christian nation but a nation of freedom and liberty, regardless of one’s beliefs. That is of course true liberty and freedom.

    As far as sharia law goes. The establishment of sharia law (as well as explicitly “Christian” laws)would be and is unconstitutional. No one argues that. It is nothing more then racist based fear mongering.

    Thank you Kevin for such a great article. I’ve always called Islam a cult. In reality it isn’t even that. It is the most horrible thing to ever have happened to humanity. What I want to know is how do we get people (especially politicians) to wake up and really do something about this? Even our president is Muslim and practices Islam – he just celebrated Ramadan. And why isn’t our president and politicians aware of the constitution. I have my doubts that an awful lot of them have never even read it, let along abide by it. I have had friends who lived in Saudi Arabia and had to live in an American compound for fear of their lives outside that compound. Americans have to do something NOW!!!

    I don’t think I made your point, Kevin. I’m curious about your hate speech, not hating anyone myself. (Though, trust me, I’m perfectly capable of it and make no claims to sainthood.) And, yes, we should be asking it of the radical and militant Muslims, but one doesn’t exclude the other. I’m asking you about your speech, particularly since your opinions are not in the mainstream of political, constitutional or theological discourse.

    What I’ve found in my last several months of research is that a very small minority of extremists–and I count you among them–seem to dominate the political dialogue in ways that promote fear, hatred, jingoism and dislogic. These things concern me as I don’t think they are in the best interests of our country, or of peace in general. That said, I believe you have a right to your voice, certainly, and would never suggest that you be silenced.

    Before I react to your article, I have to ask: will you respond to my reaction without an ad hominem fallacy?

    Because from what I’ve seen, you have not responded to anyone who disagrees with you without calling them ignorant, “undereducated,” “dumbed down,” “lazy,” “unintelligent,” “imbeciles,” “zombies,” etc. So my question is, are we going to be able to tone down the rhetoric and have a respectful conversation? I make time for respectful conversations, but I have no patience for ad hominem-laden shouting matches.

    First point. You wrote:

    Which leads us to the broader question: what constitutes a real religion? Who decides what is a religion and what is not? What is the standard by which religions are measured? Amount of adherents? Type of belief?

    I think that this is a huge inference, and one that you cannot expect all interpreters of the Constitution to share. First, because that is nowhere even hinted at in the text. Second, because that interpretation is not supported by history: Madison’s original proposed phrasing for this amendment read, “The civil rights of none shall be abridged on account of religious belief or worship, nor shall any national religion be established, nor shall the full and equal rights of conscience be in any manner, or on any pretence, infringed.” That first phrase in the original proposed amendment (and thus a clue at the intent behind the amendment) opens this up to all forms of religious worship. (Of course freedom of belief does not automatically translate into freedom to act on religious belief: see Cornell’s Annotated Constitution page on Free Exercise of Religion. http://www.law.cornell.edu/anncon/html/amdt1afrag6_user.html#amdt1a_hd24 .)

    And thirdly, because of the wide variety of beliefs held by the Founding Fathers. You say that the implication here is that freedom of religion extends only to Christians, but the idea of “Christians” (as an umbrella term) was not terribly common in that historical period–people tended to identify strongly by denominational lines. Out of the Founding Fathers, some were Catholic, Anglican, Presbyterian, Congregationalist, Lutheran, Reformed, Methodist… Thomas Paine was a deist, Benjamin Franklin was a deist who did not believe in the divinity of Jesus… Misquotes aside, John Adams hints in a letter that he thought the divinity of Jesus an “absurdity” and Jefferson thought similarly of the idea of the Trinity. George Washington’s assistant, Hayim Solomon, was Jewish. So what we are seeing, then, is not a collection of men who AGREED on the subject of religion, but a collection of men who had some profound DISagreements in their theologies. It is that freedom of peaceful disagreement–the freedom to, in the absence of a state-mandated faith, practice, proselytize, and worship freely in one’s own faith (within the bounds of the law, of course) that the First Amendment’s spirit protects.

    Whatever restrictions we place on Islam in America will one day be placed on ourselves. I see secularlization far more of a danger than shari’a: and if I make it illegal to build a mosque or share Muslim faith, then someday it will be illegal to build a church or share Christian faith. I do not wish to give the government the power to discriminate based on religion, for fear that the government will someday use that power on Christianity. Thought police (or faith police) is not the American government’s job.

    Interesting article. In reading through it, it would seem that the point of contention is not between Islam as a religion, per se, but whether or not any religious group can impose their religiously-based lifestyle beliefs upon the wider society.

    One could argue the same point with Judaism and requiring so many food and non-food products to be labeled “Kosher.” This amounts to a “Jewish tax” upon the cost of goods, as you can be sure the rabbis do not bestow such certification out of the goodness of their hearts. Yet you don’t see people getting all riled up over that. Well, some anti-Semites, perhaps, but there are always going to be people complaining about something.

    The demonization of all followers of Islam into the most extreme is pathetic and inflammatory. “Muslims are cunning, crafty and clever.” Change “Muslims” to “Jews” and Joseph Goebbels in Nazi Germany couldn’t have written a better line.

    Considering that it was the Islamic caliphate that preserved enough basic knowledge whilst the West groped around in ignorance in the Dark Ages, we actually owe them a debt of gratitude. Even the very number set we use is the Arabic one. That the region of the Middle East has been treated so poorly by the West, with Western cartographers carving up territory with no concern for the occupants, allowing the creation of Israel and imposing Jewish occupation and displacement of the Palestinians, small wonder some yearn for a return to a “golden age.” It is as much their cultural mythology as “American exceptionalism” is ours. The recent “Arab Spring,” however undermines your whole thesis, as it shows that the ordinary people are not willing to suffer tyranny indefinitely, but are seeking a very democratic and representative alternative.

    We are all ultimately one people, on one planet. Fear mongering doesn’t help our basic need to all get along, no matter where we come from, or what our religious/cultural traditions may be. Salaam, Namaste, Peace be with you.

    Ripping the West in Two.

    Author and lecturer Nonie Darwish says the goal of radical Islamists is to impose Shariah law on the world, ripping Western law and liberty in two.

    She recently authored the book, Cruel and Usual Punishment: The Terrifying Global Implications of Islamic Law.

    Darwish was born in Cairo and spent her childhood in Egypt and Gaza before emigrating to America in 1978, When she was eight years old, her father died while leading covert attacks on Israel He was a high- ranking Egyptian military officer stationed with his family in Gaza.

    When he died, he was considered a “shahid,” a martyr for jihad. His posthumous status earned Nonie and her family an elevated position in Muslim society.

    But Darwish developed a skeptical eye at an early age. She questioned her own Muslim culture and upbringing. She converted to Christianity after hearing a Christian preacher on television.

    In her latest book, Darwish warns about creeping sharia law – what it is, what it means, and how it is manifested in Islamic countries.

You are not allowed to say the lord’s prayer in school…not suppose to use any thing that our Lord, or Jesus Christ in them…when I attended school…we had the Lord’s Prayer and God Save the Queen and from what I know it didn’t do me any harm. I only enclosed this e-mail I received to enlighten some of the women who have posted and don’t realize that this so-called relgion is in-fact a male-dominated society and everything we had to endure to have the right to vote, to dress the way we want, to have freedom of speech would end in one way probable “death” or living with disfigurement. I’ve read about other religions and yes they too have faults…I am proud to call myself Christian and will do so while I still can. Sorry if I babbled or offended anyone but I am exercising my “Freedom of Speech” without fear of beheading (currently).

    @Patrick: I strongly suggest you dig into the current “Arab Spring” a little deeper. I just published an article written by Ret. MG Paul Vallely, former senior military analyst for Fox News, on my blog. I trust his intelligence gathering on the Arab Spring and who’s ultimately behind it, more than your “seeking democratic and representative alternative” conjecture.

    You, like many others, miss the entire point of my article, not my thesis. It’s not about the religious nuances, e.g. kosher foods, mitzvahs, foot baths, burkas, etc., it’s whether or not their theo-political so-called “religion” violates the US Constitution, and therefore not protected under the First Amendment.

    And don’t infer that I am a Christian Zionist, I am not. Nor am I a Dispensationalist or Dual Covenant believer. Christ is the olive branch. I wholeheartedly believe in a two state solution to the Palestinian conflict and believe that they too have the right to their land. That said, I’m a staunch believer that the current nation of Israel also has a right to exist, not from an alleged Old Covenant Biblical mandate, but as a modern day democratic nation. Israel is surrounded by Islamic nations and fascist organizations that promise to destroy them based on the literal interpretation of their hate-filled holy book.

    Do you see me advocating jingoism? Communism was defeated on the battlefield of ideas, in the think tanks, before it came down to more bloodshed. Islam / Sharia Law is a worst than Communism. It too must be defeated in the same manner. Don’t confuse racism against a peoples for racism against an evil ideology.

    People here are also ignorant about the Crusades. The Knights Templar were brave soldiers who fought against the Muslim aggression and piracy that besieged pilgrims to the Holy Land. It was Muslims through these early jihads that were trying to convert Christendom by swordpoint, not the other way around. This sounds quite familiar, since many Muslims here seek the forced conversion of America to a Shariah nation. Alas, the brave Knights Templar were done in not by the Muslims, but by a betrayal from within by King Philip the Fair (chew on the oxymoronic-ness of that for a minute). King Philip, because he owed them money, tried to weasel out of it by torturing the Knights into confessing to trumped-up charges. And many Knights did surrender their honor thinking the torture would end. King Philip was also able to make use of an unfortunate loophole in Canon Law (a loophole I think is closed now) that allowed him to influence a papal election so that while the Pope was still infallible regarding faith and morals, exercised supremely bad prudential judgment that the King could then use to his advantage. No Pope has ever taught error with regard to faith and morals, but we have had Popes throughout history that have exercised supremely bad prudential judgment, which is thankfully something a Pope does not need to define matters of faith and morals. And Pope Clement V was such a Pope who was weak in the affairs of prudential judgment that the King used to his advantage. Based upon the King’s trumped-up charges and the confessions to them from the Knights who were forced under duress to give those confessions, Pope Clement V disbanded the Order of the Templar. Shortly after that the Templars became nothing more than a statistic in the annals of history. This also sounds very familiar. The Knights Templar, brave soldiers against the Islamic thuggery of their time, were done in by betrayal from within. And if we’re not careful, what will do us in is not the Shariah-compliant Muslims, but a betrayal from within by King Obama who will persecute anyone that seeks to protect themselves against Shariah Law because he owes the US taxpayer money, money HE spent on frivolous things, just like King Philip betrayed the Knights Templar because he spent the money they loaned to him frivolously.

    I have been saying this for a long time and people just act as though I am ignorant. Now, how do we charge people in our communities with sedition when they openly call for sharia law in America? Do we need witnesses? videos? What?

    Do we call the police or just take such evidence to the local DA? What’s the process here? I have to admit I have avoided having much to do with law enforcement up unitl now, because it just seemed reasonable. But I do not want to sit by and watch my nation destroyed.

    Our rights have natural limits and the freedom of religion is no different. Calling for sharia law is equivalent to calling for the subversion/overthrow of the government. It is the same as yelling fire in a crowded theatre. It is beyond the natural limits to the freedom of religion to allow our laws to be replaced by theirs.

    Like Judaism and Christianity, Islam also emerged in the Middle East and is related directly and quite intimately to Judaism and Christianity. Muslims believe in a single God, in angels, in the Day of Judgment, in the prophets and in the revelations of the God. Muslims do not believe in the divinity of Jesus because they regard him as one of the prophets, like Moses.

    Muslims, or to be precise “Those Who Submit” to the will of Allah (“The God”), practice Islamic faith based on past revelations of Allah.

    The Qur.an presents a system of “deen”, or simply a system of faithful living. It contains historical accounts of events with few parallels to Jewish and Christian traditions.

    It teaches that life is a test and explains the Day of Judgment and resurrection. It clearly outlines the five most important obligations of the Muslims life: the confession of faith, the formal period of worship, the amount of fixed tax for the benefit of the poor, fasting, and pilgrimage to Mecca.

    Still, after all the conflicts and disagreements, major movements inside Islam established their schools of teachings and have many followers all over the world. They are regarded as sects – the Shiite and Sunni sects.
    The Sunni sect emerged out of a rationalist movement (religious) and as a school of theology known as “orthodox”. This sect has no religious hierarchy and accepts a broad set of theological principles. The Shia sect initially originated as a political movement in opposition to the central government and lost. Later, Shia incorporated a religious dimension but their view of the history of Islam was very different to that of the Sunni Muslims. Shia actually means – follower. The Sunnis accept “The Rightly Guided” as a whole group of legitimate caliphs whereas the Shiites reject legitimacy of the first three caliphs. The emphasis in this sect is heavily placed on the role of the individual clerics and it is vital to Shiite Muslims how the human leadership role is conducted within the faith.

    As you see, they not follow the same rules or believes – they are different.

    The word Islam has two meaning- “submission to God” and “peace”.

I have disproved the doctrine of eternal damnation (everlasting lake of Fire), salvation by baptism and dispensational premillennialism, but not the claims of Christ. I’ve validated the timing of the Parousia and even most of the Old Testament prophecies, which have served to validate my faith, but have you come across anything that really cemented your disbelief. Any silver bullet so to speak that you can share?

    A carload of young, loud Muslims shouting anti-American slogans stopped next to me. The light changed, the Muslims shook their fists, hit the gas and darted off ahead of me.

    Suddenly an 18-wheeler came speeding through and ran directly over their car, crushing it completely.

    For several minutes I sat in my car thinking to myself, “Man, that could have been me!”

    So, today…bright and early, I went out and got me a job as a truck driver…

    Can you disprove there’s a large invisible rabbit at Earth’s center? Then it must be true. Not being able to refute a claim doesn’t prove it. My “silver bullet” consists of observation, critical thinking and reason. Unlearning is difficult.     If this is merely a religion, how is it that public schools in California can require kids to study Islam in middle school and make posters depicting the Pillars of Islam, but disallow the study of the Bible and the placement of the 10 Commandments on the same classroom walls?

    It’s time for me to go back and refresh my knowledge of our American rights.I am 55 and I remember when we used to have bible study and prayer in school. The only ones who didn’t were the JW’s and they got to go to the library while we were praying. None of us bothered them or treated them different and they were the same to us. It seems to me that all this threat of Islam taking our beloved country for me became visible when Obama became president. I weep and feel sad for the children being tortured and raped and the African boys being raped and enslaved. We need to fast and pray and back the people who know how to keep us free. I became sick in my spirit when I saw Muslims men can have a baby wife and molest this baby as long as sex wasn’t involved. I read an article about an American soldier and a Canadian soldier having mental difficulties after seeing the results of a boy who was raped repeatedly by males in Afghanistan. My heart bleeds for the chilren and the innocent of this world. May God give us back our guts to fight for the innocent once again. Our first step is to turn back to the one true God and back the real men of our country.

Islam is clearly a theo-political movement, not a religion. As such, no mosques should be allowed to be built on American soil and the already existing ones should be made to sign a declaration acknowledging that the Constitution trumps Sharia in ALL matters of law.     Anyone with ANY KNOWLEDGE of the Bible and Christianity knows that the Old Testament is the historical context of the Bible. Everything changed after the emergence of Christ. Christians use the Old Testament for historical perspective. They follow the New Testament.

    Unlike nearly all of the Old Testament verses of violence, most of the verses of violence in the Quran are open-ended, meaning that the historical context is not embedded within the surrounding text. They are part of the eternal, unchanging word of Allah, and just as relevant or subjective as anything else in the Quran. They are in the area of the Quran that is equivalent to the new testament of the Bible.

    Unfortunately, there are very few verses of tolerance and peace to abrogate or even balance out the many that call for nonbelievers to be fought and subdued until they either accept humiliation, convert to Islam, or are killed. This proclivity towards violence – and Muhammad’s own martial legacy – has left a trail of blood and tears across world history.

    This is what makes the verses of violence so dangerous. They are given the weight of DIVINE COMMAND. While Muslim terrorists take them as literally as anything else in the Quran, and understand that Islam is incomplete without Jihad, moderates offer little to contradict them – outside of opinion. Indeed, what do they have? Speaking of peace and love may win over the ignorant, but when every twelfth verse of Islam’s holiest book either speaks to Allah’s hatred for non-Muslims or calls for their death, forced conversion, or subjugation, it’s little wonder that sympathy for terrorism runs as deeply as it does in the broader community – even if most Muslims personally prefer not to interpret their religion in this way.

They are somewhat surprised and embarrassed to learn that the evidence of the Quran and the bloody history of Islam are contradictory to their false beliefs.

    Christianity is not a theo-political totalitarian regime. Unlike Islam, nothing about Christendom contradicts the Constitution. LOL . . . I’m a Christian fundamentalist, huh?     The reality is No Religion is actually protected under the Constitution , whereas the first amendment states : “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ”

I have put my life on the line for this country and in the Defense of the Constitution of the United States of America. and My Oath that I took states that I will defend the Constitution of the United STates of America from all enemies Forien and Domestic, and so does the Oath that our Congressmen Senators, and President, and Judges. They have not been doing thier Jobs in fact for the past decade or so they have been commiting treason with some of the laws they have been passing. We have been attempting redress in accordiace with the Constitution which is not working. It is getting to the time when we start to make use of the reason our forfathers added the 2nd Amendment in case our Government became a Tyrant. That Amendment give us the right and duty to take up arms against the illegal government Tyrant to redress since they dont care to follow the Constitution of the land which is the SUPREME LAW OF THE LAND.

    Great artical. I agree, Islam needs to be stopped in America. Question is, how? Do we close the borders to Islamic immigrants? (Great Idea), Do we forbid the practice of Islam in America amongst those Muslims here? (Might be a kinda neat role switch, after all the persecution and killing of Christians and Jews in Islamic countries)

    Hi Mr. Lehmann,

    First off, before I am accused of being a “uneducated liberal” as many of the commenters accuse those who dissent from your opinion do, let me give you a little background on myself.

    First off, I am a proud American. I am an active and vocal young Republican (it is how I found about you in the first place; your wife sent friend requests to Gingrich supporters). I am devoted follower of Christ. I am pursuing my bachelor’s in international relations and in two years will hopefully be commissioned into our Country’s Army as an officer. I am often the first to point out the problems with democrats’ ideologies, our current President, yada yada. But I do so with fact.

    Therefore, it deeply saddens to see this piece, and more importantly, many of the comments supporting it. Why does it sadden me? Because for the past four years that I’ve studied Islam in my academic setting, spent time conversing with Arab and Muslim scholars, and conversed with my many fellow Muslim peers (my university happens to be one of the most diverse in the nation), I can’t find a semblance of truth to what you are saying in regards to how MAINSTREAM Muslims feel about Islam, the Quran, Sharia, and even more importantly, the United States.

    The biggest point I want to suggest to you is your seemingly massive confusion of radical Islamic ideologies with that of “true” Islam, or at least the Islam practiced by well over a billion people. And by the way, can we all put to bed this confusion that the majority of Muslims live in the “middle east”? Fact: more Muslims live in Indonesia than anywhere else. Now back to my point about the difference between Islam and radical ideologies that distort and pervert it. Do some research into wahhabism, salafism, and other ideologies based marginally off Islam. You will see that THESE are the systems of belief that drive radical groups like Al Qaeda, the Taliban, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and others. These ideologies promote the killing of other MUSLIMS as well as anyone else because they believe that God wants them get rid of “impure” Muslims in return for God’s favors. Sharia is a much more touchy topic, and is subject to very fervent debate, but the point you continue to bring up is only a SMALL portion of an even smaller part of its talks on criminal justice. I could do very similar things by looking through the Bible or any related religious text for that matter.

    The point is, billion of Muslims wake up each morning just as billions of Christians do: they get up, some go to work, converse with fellow coworkers (men and women), some go to school (with girls and boys) and learn maths, sciences, arts (the West in fact owes quite a bit of gratitude to Arab scholars in science and math if you do some research), and have dinner at home with their families as we do. Billions of PEACEFUL Muslims do not spend their days plotting against Christians, the West, plant IEDs and set up carbombs to kill ‘infidels’. It may pain you to realize it, but honestly if every Muslim behaved in the ways you believe Islam promotes, we would have be “destroyed” much sooner. Another thing for you to do would be to engage in conversation with mainstream Muslim groups that make up the vast majority of Muslims. You will get a very different picture. Unfortunately, since 9/11 two things happened: (1) our gov’t and the fourth estate has associated modern day terrorism with Islam. A recent article I read something along the lines of: “man arrested in association with plotting an ISLAMIC ATTACK”. I capitalized ‘Islamic attack’ because it is ridiculous. What is an Islamic attack? Is it an attack where someone beats someone with a stack of Qurans? that is the only explanation that would make sense. As you can see, the media paints a very distorted picture. And (2) since 9/11 many moderate mainstream Muslims have hesitated to speak up loudly against the radical perverse ideologies of Al-Qaeda. It is not because they support those types of people. From those that I’ve spoken to, they really don’t know why they didn’t speak up, but they regret it immensely. Perhaps it would change the atmosphere of Islamaphobia that is so fervent in articles such as this one and in many of your readers’ comments.

    Now briefly on your point about Islam not being a religion. That doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. As many have already pointed out, Islam is one of the three Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Muslims) that all believe in the SAME ONE GOD. In fact, some very early Judaic texts refer to God as “Allah”. Yes, Islam does mean “submission”. But it is submission to “God” just as God calls Christians to submit and strive to be like the lifestyle set out by his son, Jesus Christ. Like the other Abrahmic religions, Islam believes in Angels, a day of judgement or reckoning, redemption for sinning, and the existence of Prophets. Something many don’t realize is that Muslims acknowledge the existence of Jesus as one of their Prophets (Jesus is the second most named person in the Quran after Mohammed). They just don’t believe that was the Messiah or God in flesh because they are strict in their belief of Allah as one single being that could not be split between Heaven and Earth. Yes, its a point of contention between the two groups as it is what separates Christians from others but the point is, both religions grew from the same tree. I give credit where it is due, so I laud you on your understanding of Islam as something unique in that it lays out guidelines for more than just worship. It has views on political systems, economics (such as the forbidding of people having to pay interest on things), and judicial responsibilities (laid out in the Sharia mostly). This is something very unique to Islam. Christians and Jews don’t have such a text (for the most part). Now, just because these aspects are included doesn’t it make it NOT a religion. It is just not the religion that you and I and others here are used to. That is why, to many Muslims, the idea of “din wa dawla” or “Religion and state” is very important. Secularism holds a much different meaning to Muslims than to most Christians or Jews, though there are MILLIONS of Muslims who advocate Secularism. Now, to your idea of Islam being a “theocracy”. That doesn’t make sense because a theocracy is a system of government, which means it is run by PEOPLE. Islam to Muslims, is the Object of Knowledge, nothing more or less. I think what you really should look at is that Islam just makes the establishment of Theocracy EASIER because of its ideas on government, economics, judicial systems, etc. But the only Theocracy in the world is Iran, and there many many more countries in the world lead by Muslims.

    I don’t want to get into a shouting match with you about how I feel about you saying we need to get rid of Muslims in the United States, but hear me out. One of my two grandfathers gave his life in Europe to keep the fascist, totalitarian regime of Nazi Germany from continuing to impose their racist, intolerant, and cruel treatment of non-Aryans on the world. The beauty of our country, is that the Founders set up a Constitution which protects the People from the Government taking away our God given Rights. It did not say if this “God” was a Christian God, a Buddhist God, or a Jewish God. It merely said that our Rights come from a higher source than man could ever reach and that our rights come from it rather than being given to us by the Government. The Constitution explicitly says that the Government MAY NOT PROHIBIT THE FREE EXERCISE of a religion. If we were to get rid of Muslims, we would be no better than Nazis, the Khoumer Rouge, Hutus in Rwanda, or Serbs in Bosnia. As MLK said, “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” It is a spit in the face to all those that sacrificed SO MUCH for our Freedom in the U.S. to be so extremely intolerant of any race, ethnicity, religion, or group of people. Luckily, it is also the beauty of our great Nation that we CAN say such things and not fear persecution. However, it is deeply saddening to me to see such level of Islamaphobia here and I felt obligated to voice my opinion.

    To end on an a positive, historical fact: At the dawn of Islam, Mohammed left Mecca because of persecution by those he deemd “idol worshipers” (people who worshipped idols in a polytheistic manner). He famously traveled to the city of Medina and set up a small society there which featured peaceful coexistence between what the Quran calls believers: Muslims, Jews, and Christians. This is where the popular term “ummah” came from. It means “universal community of believers”, meaning that Muslims, Jews, and Christians all lived under one community for hundreds of years. Unfortunately these unifying bonds between the three were cut off at the dawn of the Crusades and earlier so that word doesn’t hold the same meaning today. It does singify a certain historical potential I think we can all appreciate and admire though.

    All I ask is that you respond to me in a way that reflects the respectful manner in which I addressed you as well. I avoided touching on some of the more inflammatory points of the article because one can only debate the nitty gritty for so long. Thanks.

    @Ian . . . I suggest you continue your studies on Islam and Sharia law, you have a long way to go. A couple of years of reading about it and being surrounded by Muslims hardly makes one an expert on the topic. I study both monotheistic and pluralistic religions as well as the pseudo Christian cults. I’ve been at this for quite a few years.

    We have an epidemic in this country and it’s called Islam and Sharia Law. And too few people are doing too little about it. Why? Because Americans like you have been influenced by the liberal elites to be tolerant, compassionate and to embrace multiculturalism and respect for each other’s beliefs, ideals and values. That’s all wonderful and dandy in a utopian world, but the fact is, Islam doesn’t embrace any aspect of Western civilization, much less American values, principles and ideals. We are rapidly and methodically being dismantled as a nation, and our freedom and liberty is more fragile than at anytime since WWII. And while we fight the enemy abroad with intelligence and drone strikes, we’re doing nothing to combat the same exact enemy that resides on our own soil in broad daylight. And if we don’t defeat it politically and do it swiftly, than mark my words, your children and grandchildren could be engaged in a religious and bloody war, the likes of which has never been seen on American soil.

    Islam has little to do with religion. It is a theocracy and terrorist regime that hides behind the mask of religion to accomplish its mission of a worldwide Islamic caliphate. What most Americans don’t understand, including you, is that Islam is a totalitarian “theo-political” belief system and a social doctrine – the two go hand in hand – with mandates on every single aspect of life. And those mandates are enforced and regulated by the barbaric criminal and civil code known as Sharia Law. The precise definition of a Muslim becomes crystal clear when you read the Quran and the hadith. Bottom line, You’re to be an Allah fearing, Quran believing, and Mohammed following zealot that forces people to submit, convert, and comply with Islam and Sharia or be killed. Those are the facts. Does every Muslim follow the commands of the Quran? No, thank God. But as they assimilate themselves into communities and increase in numbers, they become more militant and less tolerant of that communities laws and regulations.

    Any religion whose holy book commands its followers to commit crimes that are antithetical to the laws of this country, should not only lose its tax exempt status, but lose its 1st Amendment protection and be banned from the United States altogether. In case you are not familiar with some of the condoned atrocities of Islam and Sharia law, are you aware that women are stoned to death for committing adultery and that gay men are actually hung? Or that the genitals of little girls are mutilated in order to protect her virginity and that children may be murdered in the name of family honor, and that bestiality is not only condoned but encouraged in the Quran?

    Islam does not recognize separation of church and state. Islamic republics are dominated by spiritual leaders who oversee the strict adherence to Sharia law by its citizens. In countries where Islamic enclaves and ghettos have emerged like in France and Britain, local mullahs enforce Sharia law regardless of its conflict with national or state laws.

    What you have to understand is that Sharia law is the foundation of Islamic theocracy and totalitarianism. The establishment of global Sharia law is their ultimate goal. The Quran is unequivocal in its directive to Muslims to establish a global Islamic state, a Caliphate, over which the Islamic messiah, or Mahdi, will rule with Sharia as the only law of the land. Make no mistake, that is the intent of influential Islamic elements in America. The problem is, it stands in stark contrast to the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution. It is the exact opposite of what the First Amendment was designed to protect.

    Understand that Sharia is very complex and it’s derived from multiple sources. The Quran, considered the “uncreated word of Allah” is the primary source of Sharia law. The Hadith (sayings and actions of Muhammad) is the second most important document in Sharia. Historic rulings by jurists over the years and so-called reasoning by analogy make up the other two, less-influential sources of Sharia. And together these constitute Islam’s theological core and they result in a totalitarian way of life for Muslim followers and non-Muslims—kafirs or infidels.

    Sharia law is in complete contradiction with American values because it enslaves people and encourages acts of violence and barbaric behavior. Sharia demands the death of those who renounce Islam. A former Muslim turned Christian pastor in Iran recently received a death sentence. Honor killings, marital rape, female genital mutilation, not to mention the severing of hands and feet are but a few of the other components of Sharia.

    When Muslim men are directed to beat their wives for rejecting sexual advances, I think it becomes obvious that American values are in direct conflict with what Islamic law requires of its followers.

    I believe in the 1st Amendment right of people to worship or not worship whomever or whatever they want, but Islam hardly constitutes a religion. What “religion” would condone atrocities that are antithetical to the God-given inalienable rights expressed in the Declaration of Independence and Constitution? None. Therefore, it does not deserve 1st Amendment Constitutional protection.

    Read the Quran before you go blindly supporting an alleged religion that is allegedly protected under the 1st Amendment.

    Islam – Clearly and Concisely Evil and Violent.

    The Quran:
    Quran (2:191-193) – “And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution [of Muslims] is worse than slaughter [of non-believers]… but if desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful. And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah.”
    There is a good case to be made that the textual context of this particular passage is defensive war, even if the historical context was not. However, there are also two worrisome pieces to this verse. The first is that the killing of others is authorized in the event of “persecution” (a qualification that is ambiguous at best). The second is that fighting may persist until “religion is for Allah.” The example set by Muhammad is not reassuring.

    Quran (2:244) – “Then fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah Heareth and knoweth all things.”

    Quran (2:216) – “Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not.” Not only does this verse establish that violence can be virtuous, but it also contradicts the myth that fighting is intended only in self-defense, since the audience was obviously not under attack at the time. From the Hadith, we know that Muhammad was actually trying to motivate his people into raiding caravans with this verse.

    Quran (3:56) – “As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help.”

    Quran (3:151) – “Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority”. This speaks directly of polytheists, yet it also includes Christians, since they believe in the Trinity (ie. what Muhammad incorrectly believed to be ‘joining companions to Allah’).

    Quran (4:74) – “Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward.” The martyrs of Islam are unlike the early Christians, led meekly to the slaughter. These Muslims are killed in battle, as they attempt to inflict death and destruction for the cause of Allah. Here is the theological basis for today’s suicide bombers.

    Quran (4:76) – “Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah…”

    Quran (4:89) – “They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks.”

    Quran (4:95) – “Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) Hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward,-” This passage criticizes “peaceful” Muslims who do not join in the violence, letting them know that they are less worthy in Allah’s eyes. It also demolishes the modern myth that “Jihad” doesn’t mean holy war in the Quran, but rather a spiritual struggle. Not only is the Arabic word used in this passage, but it is clearly not referring to anything spiritual, since the physically disabled are given exemption. (The Hadith reveals the context of the passage to be in response to a blind man’s protest that he is unable to engage in Jihad and this is reflected in other translations of the verse).

    Quran (4:104) – “And be not weak hearted in pursuit of the enemy; if you suffer pain, then surely they (too) suffer pain as you suffer pain…” Is pursuing an injured and retreating enemy really an act of self-defense?

    Quran (5:33) – “The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement”

    Quran (8:12) – “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them” No reasonable person would interpret this to mean a spiritual struggle.

    Quran (8:15) – “O ye who believe! When ye meet those who disbelieve in battle, turn not your backs to them. (16)Whoso on that day turneth his back to them, unless maneuvering for battle or intent to join a company, he truly hath incurred wrath from Allah, and his habitation will be hell, a hapless journey’s end.”

    Quran (8:39) – “And fight with them until there is no more persecution and religion should be only for Allah” From the historical context we know that the “persecution” spoken of here was simply the refusal by the Meccans to allow Muhammad to enter their city and perform the Haj. Other Muslims were able to travel there, just not as an armed group, since Muhammad declared war on Mecca prior to his eviction. The Meccans were also acting in defense of their religion, since it was Muhammad’s intention to destroy their idols and establish Islam by force (which he later did). Hence the critical part of this verse is to fight until “religion is only for Allah.” According to Ibn Ishaq (324), Muhammad justified the violence further by explaining that “Allah must have no rivals.”

    Quran (8:57) – “If thou comest on them in the war, deal with them so as to strike fear in those who are behind them, that haply they may remember.”

    Quran (8:59-60) – “And let not those who disbelieve suppose that they can outstrip (Allah’s Purpose). Lo! they cannot escape. Make ready for them all thou canst of (armed) force and of horses tethered, that thereby ye may dismay the enemy of Allah and your enemy.”

    Quran (8:65) – “O Prophet, exhort the believers to fight…”

    Quran (9:5) – “So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them.” According to this verse, the best way of staying safe from Muslim violence is to convert to Islam. Prayer (salat) and the poor tax (zakat) are among the religions Five Pillars.

    Unlike nearly all of the Old Testament verses of violence, most of the verses of violence in the Quran are open-ended, meaning that the historical context is not embedded within the surrounding text. They are part of the eternal, unchanging word of Allah, and just as relevant or subjective as anything else in the Quran. They are in the area of the Quran that is equivalent to the new testament of the Bible.
    Unfortunately, there are very few verses of tolerance and peace to abrogate or even balance out the many that call for nonbelievers to be fought and subdued until they either accept humiliation, convert to Islam, or are killed. This proclivity toward violence – and Muhammad’s own martial legacy – has left a trail of blood and tears across world history.

    This is what makes the verses of violence so dangerous. They are given the weight of DIVINE COMMAND. While Muslim terrorists take them as literally as anything else in the Quran, and understand that Islam is incomplete without Jihad, moderates offer little to contradict them – outside of opinion. Indeed, what do they have? Speaking of peace and love may win over the ignorant, but when every twelfth verse of Islam’s holiest book either speaks to Allah’s hatred for non-Muslims or calls for their death, forced conversion, or subjugation, it’s little wonder that sympathy for terrorism runs as deeply as it does in the broader community – even if most Muslims personally prefer not to interpret their religion in this way.

    In fact, many Muslims are simply unaware of the Quran’s near absence of verses that preach universal non-violence. This is because their understanding of Islam comes from what they are taught by others. In the West, it is typical for Muslims to come to believe that their religion must be like Christianity – preaching the New Testament virtues of peace, love, and tolerance – because Muslims are taught that Islam is supposed to be superior in every way. They are somewhat surprised and embarrassed to learn that the evidence of the Quran and the bloody history of Islam are very much in contradiction to this . . .

    Quran (9:14) – “Fight them, Allah will punish them by your hands and bring them to disgrace…”

    Quran (9:20) – “Those who believe, and have left their homes and striven with their wealth and their lives in Allah’s way are of much greater worth in Allah’s sight. These are they who are triumphant.” The “striving” spoken of here is Jihad.

    Quran (9:29) – “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.” “People of the Book” refers to Christians and Jews. This was one of the final “revelations” from Allah and it set in motion the tenacious military expansion, in which Muhammad’s companions managed to conquer two-thirds of the Christian world in just the next 100 years. Islam is intended to dominate all other people and faiths.
    Quran (9:30) – “And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!”

    Quran (9:38-39) – “O ye who believe! what is the matter with you, that, when ye are asked to go forth in the cause of Allah, ye cling heavily to the earth? Do ye prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter? But little is the comfort of this life, as compared with the Hereafter. Unless ye go forth, He will punish you with a grievous penalty, and put others in your place.” This is a warning to those who refuse to fight, that they will be punished with Hell.

    Quran (9:41) – “Go forth, light-armed and heavy-armed, and strive with your wealth and your lives in the way of Allah! That is best for you if ye but knew.” See also the verse that follows (9:42) – “If there had been immediate gain (in sight), and the journey easy, they would (all) without doubt have followed thee, but the distance was long, (and weighed) on them” This contradicts the myth that Muslims are to fight only in self-defense, since the wording implies that battle will be waged a long distance from home (in another country and on Christian soil, in this case, according to the historians).
    Quran (9:73) – “O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination.” Dehumanizing those who reject Islam, by reminding Muslims that they are merely firewood for Hell, makes it easier to justify slaughter. It also explains why today’s devout Muslims have little regard for those outside the faith.

    Quran (9:88) – “But the Messenger, and those who believe with him, strive and fight with their wealth and their persons: for them are (all) good things: and it is they who will prosper.”

    Quran (9:111) – “Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Quran: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme.”

    Quran (9:123) – “O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness.”

    Quran (18:65-81) – This parable lays the theological groundwork for honor killings, in which a family member is murdered because they brought shame to the family, either through apostasy or perceived moral indiscretion. The story, which is not found in any Jewish or Christian source, tells of Moses encountering a man with “special knowledge” who does things which don’t seem to make sense on the surface, but are then justified according to later explanation. One such action is to murder a youth for no apparent reason (74). However, the wise man later explains that it was feared that the boy would “grieve” his parents by “disobedience and ingratitude.” He was killed so that Allah could provide them a ‘better’ son.

    Quran (21:44) – “We gave the good things of this life to these men and their fathers until the period grew long for them; See they not that We gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders? Is it then they who will win?”

    Quran (25:52) – “Therefore listen not to the Unbelievers, but strive against them with the utmost strenuousness…” “Strive against” is Jihad – obviously not in the personal context. It’s also significant to point out that this is a Meccan verse.

    Quran (33:60-62) – “If the hypocrites, and those in whose hearts is a disease, and the alarmists in the city do not cease, We verily shall urge thee on against them, then they will be your neighbors in it but a little while. Accursed, they will be seized wherever found and slain with a (fierce) slaughter.” This passage sanctions the slaughter (rendered “merciless” and “horrible murder” in other translations) against three groups: Hypocrites (Muslims who refuse to “fight in the way of Allah” (3:167) and hence don’t act as Muslims should), those with “diseased hearts” (which include Jews and Christians 5:51-52), and “alarmists” or “agitators who include those who merely speak out against Islam, according to Muhammad’s biographers. It is worth noting that the victims are to be sought out by Muslims, which is what today’s terrorists do. If this passage is meant merely to apply to the city of Medina, then it is unclear why it is included in Allah’s eternal word to Muslim generations.

    Quran (47:3-4) – “Those who reject Allah follow vanities, while those who believe follow the truth from their lord. Thus does Allah set forth form men their lessons by similtudes. Therefore when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make (them) prisoners,” Those who reject Allah are to be subdued in battle. The verse goes on to say the only reason Allah doesn’t do the dirty work himself is in order to to test the faithfulness of Muslims. Those who kill pass the test. “But if it had been Allah’s Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the Way of Allah,- He will never let their deeds be lost.”

    Quran (47:35) – “Be not weary and faint-hearted, crying for peace, when ye should be uppermost (Shakir: “have the upper hand”) for Allah is with you,” This very important verse asserts that the Religion of Peace is not to grant peace to the broader society until Islamic rule has been established.

    Quran (48:17) – “There is no blame for the blind, nor is there blame for the lame, nor is there blame for the sick (that they go not forth to war). And whoso obeyeth Allah and His messenger, He will make him enter Gardens underneath which rivers flow; and whoso turneth back, him will He punish with a painful doom.” Contemporary apologists sometimes claim that Jihad means ‘spiritual struggle.’ Is so, then why are the blind, lame and sick exempted?

    Quran (48:29) – “Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. And those with him are hard (ruthless) against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves” Islam is not about treating everyone equally. There are two very distinct standards that are applied based on religious status.

    Quran (61:4) – “Surely Allah loves those who fight in His way” Religion of Peace, indeed! This is followed by (61:9): “He it is who has sent His Messenger (Mohammed) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islam) to make it victorious over all religions even though the infidels may resist.”

    Quran (61:10-12) – “O ye who believe! Shall I lead you to a bargain that will save you from a grievous Penalty?- That ye believe in Allah and His Messenger, and that ye strive (your utmost) in the Cause of Allah, with your property and your persons: That will be best for you, if ye but knew! He will forgive you your sins, and admit you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, and to beautiful mansions in Gardens of Eternity.” This verse was given in battle. It uses the Arabic word, Jihad.

    Quran (66:9) – “O Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be stern with them. Hell will be their home, a hapless journey’s end.” The root word of “Jihad” is used again here. The context is clearly holy war, and the scope of violence is broadened to include “hypocrites” – those who call themselves Muslims but do not act as such.
    From the Hadith:

    Bukhari (52:177) – Allah’s Apostle said, “The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. “O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him.”

    Bukhari (52:256) – The Prophet… was asked whether it was permissible to attack the pagan warriors at night with the probability of exposing their women and children to danger. The Prophet replied, “They (i.e. women and children) are from them (i.e. pagans).” In this command, Muhammad establishes that it is permissible to kill non-combatants in the process of killing a perceived enemy. This provides justification for the many Islamic terror bombings.

    Bukhari (52:220) – Allah’s Apostle said… ‘I have been made victorious with terror’

    Abu Dawud (14:2526) – The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: Three things are the roots of faith: to refrain from (killing) a person who utters, “There is no god but Allah” and not to declare him unbeliever whatever sin he commits, and not to excommunicate him from Islam for his any action; and jihad will be performed continuously since the day Allah sent me as a prophet until the day the last member of my community will fight with the Dajjal (Antichrist)

    Abu Dawud (14:2527) – The Prophet said: Striving in the path of Allah (jihad) is incumbent on you along with every ruler, whether he is pious or impious

    Muslim (1:33) – the Messenger of Allah said: I have been commanded to fight against people till they testify that there is no god but Allah, that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah

    Bukhari (8:387) – Allah’s Apostle said, “I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah

    Muslim (1:149) – “Abu Dharr reported: I said: Messenger of Allah, which of the deeds is the best? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: Belief in Allah and Jihad in His cause…”

    Muslim (20:4645) – “…He (the Messenger of Allah) did that and said: There is another act which elevates the position of a man in Paradise to a grade one hundred (higher), and the elevation between one grade and the other is equal to the height of the heaven from the earth. He (Abu Sa’id) said: What is that act? He replied: Jihad in the way of Allah! Jihad in the way of Allah!”

    Muslim (20:4696) – “the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: ‘One who died but did not fight in the way of Allah nor did he express any desire (or determination) for Jihid died the death of a hypocrite.’”

    Muslim (19:4321-4323) – Three separate hadith in which Muhammad shrugs over the news that innocent children were killed in a raid by his men against unbelievers. His response: “They are of them (meaning the enemy).”

    Tabari 7:97 The morning after the murder of Ashraf, the Prophet declared, “Kill any Jew who falls under your power.” Ashraf was a poet, killed by Muhammad’s men because he insulted Islam. Here, Muhammad widens the scope of his orders to kill. An innocent Jewish businessman was then slain by his Muslim partner, merely for being non-Muslim.

    Tabari 9:69 “Killing Unbelievers is a small matter to us” The words of Muhammad, prophet of Islam.

    Ibn Ishaq: 327 – “Allah said, ‘A prophet must slaughter before collecting captives. A slaughtered enemy is driven from the land. Muhammad, you craved the desires of this world, its goods and the ransom captives would bring. But Allah desires killing them to manifest the religion.’”

    Ibn Ishaq: 990 – Lest anyone think that cutting off someone’s head while screaming ‘Allah Akbar!’ is a modern custom, here is an account of that very practice under Muhammad, who seems to approve.

    Ibn Ishaq: 992 – “Fight everyone in the way of Allah and kill those who disbelieve in Allah.” Muhammad’s instructions to his men prior to a military raid.

    I have read the quran, several times. I am familar with many hadith as well as countless other accounts from the era after the death of Mohammed to the fall of the Ottoman empire. I was not taught to be tolerant of others because of the ‘liberal media’ which I despise just as much as you. We clearly have a great difference of opinion, so we will leave it at that.     I’m a bleeding heart liberal, patriotic American from San Francisco. Anyone who lives in the U.S., and does not revere the U.S. constitution and the Bill of Rights is no friend of mine.

    I haven’t met many muslims in my life. Only three. The first, Mina, was an electrical engineer; the second, Ahmed, an architect; the third, Ginny, a musical therapist for disabled people. They were all kind, decent people who obeyed U.S. law and believed in treating women with respect.

    From my acquaintance with these three muslims, I have come to the conclusion that moderate Muslims do indeed exist. Also, I found a group of American Muslims on the web who are very vocal in their support of the U.S. Constitution and our Bill of Rights: http://www.aifdemocracy.org/about/

    However, certain types or aspects of Islam are troubling. Wahhabism and salafism, those versions of Islam that promote an extreme adherence to Sharia law, immediately spring to mind. Wahhabism is the type of Islam practiced in Saudi Arabia, and, unfortunately, its Saudi adherents are very enthusiastic evangelically and are very rich. They have spent billions of dollars around the world to send Wahhabi imans to teach a very strict view of the religion. Remember: 15 of the 19 terrorists from 9/11 were Saudi Wahhabists.

    I disagree with the poster that Islam is a “theocracy.” As Ian mentioned above, a theocracy is a type of state. Iran and Saudi Arabia are theocracies. Islam is a religion. And like other religions, as long as its members adhere to the U.S. constitution and our laws, it is protected under the 1st Amendment.

    Preach on. The left is full of information, but completely devoid of context and comprehension; without a proper frame of reference they can’t read the Constitution as it was intended to be read.

    Explicit in the wording of the first amendment is the intent to protect the liberties of believers to practice their faith without obstruction from government. Implicit is the idea that it was created primarily to protect the rights of Christians in a nation founded on Christian principles.

    The founding fathers never intended the Constitution to be used to justify the worship of demonic idols and false gods. The term ‘religion’ in this context is used in the colloquial context that the founding fathers understood. That is, it refers specifically to the Christian religion. When you were a kid and you asked your school friends which religion they belonged to what you were really asking is are you a Methodist, Baptist, Pentecostal, etc.

    Non-Christians then really have no ‘right’ to worship false idols. It cannot be granted by a truly Christian government. Whatever tolerance we show for them is merely a ‘privilege’ but most definitely not a transcendental right conferred by the grace of God. Everywhere it is found, pluralism should be considered a moral evil and a subversive element to be watched cautiously.

    But they have created a society in which it is acceptable to twist and pervert the intent of the Constitution. The marxists, sodomites, feminists, drug pushers, adulterers, baby murderers, money changers, and God-mockers realized that they weren’t strong enough to face a God fearing people on equal grounds, so they’ve done what all despicable and evil cowards have done to just, Godly nations.

    Like the evil serpent in the Garden of Eden, the cowardly marxists have quietly wormed their way into every level of our society. They sew doubt in the minds of our children, teaching them to critically challenge and question fixed beliefs that are critical to upholding the moral and spiritual traditions of the United States.

    I am a Muslim girl and I read the Quran regularly and I follow what’s written in there. BUT, I don’t go nuts like your friend did. Know why? Because I listen to what the ulama (Islamic scholars) say about certain verses. I don’t make tafsirs (interpretations)of my own. This is the problem that many Muslims face. Lack of knowledge. To tafsir the Quran, you need knowledge such as nahu, balaghah, mantik etc. (Search these on the net, I can’t remember). That’s all I want to say. Thank you

    The OIC admits in its own 1990 Cairo Declaration that all human rights are subject to sharia, and this of course would include freedom of religion. Article 24 of the Declaration clearly states:

    “All the rights and freedoms stipulated in this Declaration are subject to the Islamic Shari’ah.”
    That is a huge get out clause to ensure that any actual human rights that are endorsed elsewhere in the document to deceive the stupid, are clearly and decisively abrogated. Human rights according to shari’ah are not human rights according to the actual understood meaning of the term. It is also a get out clause for the reasonably sounding United Nations resolution 16/18 because by the OIC’s own documents such resolutions are ‘subject to the Islamic Shari’ah’ and therefore rendered meaningless in terms of the way it is understood in the West.

    Clearly sharia is inconsistent with human rights and this was been recognised by the European Court of Human Rights in 2003 the following is taken from its Annual Report of that year:

    “In Refah Partisi,it carried out a thorough examination of the relationship between the Convention, democracy, political parties and religion, and found that a sharia-based regime was incompatible with the Convention, in particular, as regards the rules of criminal law and procedure, the place given to women in the legal order and its interference in all spheres of private and public life in accordance with religious precepts.”
    Since religious freedom is dependent on freedom of expression and not the other way around, and since multiculturalism rightly favours religious toleration, freedom of expression is an essential element of a multicultural society. It seems strange therefore that Western leaders appear to be seriously considering implementing the OIC demand for an international blasphemy law in their countries.

    The religion of “peace” or Islam can be defined as the world’s ultimate evil force bent on conquest by employing absolute terror and the most savage forms of violence. Islam masquerades as a peaceful religious belief, but in reality Islam is a tyrannical evil ideology. After reading the Quran, and the Hadith or the sayings and traditions of Mohammed, and the Sira or the biography of Mohammed one is left with the conclusion that Islam is a way of conquest and subjugation, whose ultimate objective is to have victory over Jesus Christ and His church, by destroying Christianity, and at the same time subjugate and enslave the entire world, thus gaining absolute dominion over every single man, woman, and child.

    The following four points are being instilled into the minds of every practicing Muslim attending over 1,700 Islamic academies spreading all over the United States.

    1- Muslims are superior to non-Muslims.

    2- The world is divided between the dar al Islam, where peace reigns because Islam reigns there, and the dar al Harb or the region of war Islam must conquer.

    3- Muslims have a duty to advance the rule and authority of Islam until the entire world is under its rule.

    4- Any and all means to advance this rule and authority, including deception, force and violence, is permissible and even advocated.

    But deception is preferable and well used, found in the principle of Al Takeyya which conveys the understanding that Muslims are permitted to lie as a means of furthering Allah’s cause, and the promotion of Islam. Muslims are also permitted to deny their faith in order to deceive the infidels, as long as they do not mean it in their hearts.

    Al-Takeyya is based on the following Quranic verse: “Let not the believers take for friends or helpers unbelievers rather than believers, if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah except by way of precaution (prevention), that ye may guard yourselves from them (prevent them from harming you.) But Allah cautions you to remember Him; for the final goal is to Allah.” Surah 3: 28

    In other words, Muslims can smile outwardly, and appear friendly while inwardly they are full of hate. A highly regarded Sunni scholar recorded that fact for Al Takeyya, “We smile in the face of infidels although our hearts curse them.”

    Only damned fools would believe anything these murderous fanatical deceivers would say or do.

    Just observe and see that Muslims will not assimilate into the American culture because they immigrate with the intention of taking over the U.S. Government and impose Sharia Law. The entire US is under satanic spell, there is no other explanation as to why Americans have allowed Muslims for the last 20 years to install over 1,700 Mosques or Islamic Academies teaching Sharia Law all over the USA, and ignoring the fact that Islamic authorities will not permit Christian’s churches in Islamic countries.

    The US must terminate all ties with all Muslim countries by recalling its Ambassadors, by deporting all Muslims, and by demolishing all Mosques. But in reality that will never happen, what will happen is that about the time unsuspecting Americans realizes what is going on, it will be too late, Americans will be under Sharia Law, and they will be forced to prostrate five times a day towards the east to Allah, the satanic moon demon Muslims worship, and kill for.

    I think Islam is NOT ONLY a religion but also a goverment and a legal system. It´s political, it´s social, it´s in all aspects of the followers life. Muslins take the Coran first as opposed to any secular country constitution or even humans rights. As someone already said their intention is to build a state within a state. Is there any doubt about that? I just read these words on a brazilian magazine this week: “Main problem is that they are willing to fight for their beliefs way more than we are willing to fight for our freedom”. Yes my friend, Jihad is starting its way on Latin America too, as if we didn´t have tyrants of our own to deal down here. An Islamic group just payed a corrupt judge to censor that trash anti-slam movie over here (attempt of censorship, of course, made me want to watch it, download it, and post it to my facebook every freaking day). I guess freedom (even in flawed democracies like here) is quite distracting (so many things to do, to think, to learn, to pursue, to become…), while Islam is pretty much focused on one thing and the afterlife rewards of accomplishing it. I don´t see how some people are missing this, really. And after Hillary´s apology of your first amendment, I realised it´s worse than I thought.     Additionally, each and every right under the Constitution is subject to restraint or forfeiture, if it conflicts with the constitutional rights of others. For example, we all have the rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness under the Constitution. But if you kill your neighbor because his dog crapped on your lawn, you can lose all those rights.

    So too things like the “Jim Jones kool-aid party” and what the Quran commands are NOT protected under the Constitution. Courts are required to apply the “balancing of the scales” analysis, when opposing sides in a case maintain that they have a right under the Constitution. And the judge must determine WHICH side has the greater claim to “right” under the Constitution and which side would suffer the greatest harm by allowing the opposing side to exercise the right that they claim.

    To put things in perspective, YOU play the judge in the following case, then tell us your verdict:

    Side A alleges it has a right to kill, oppress and annihilate anyone who refuses to believe as they do.

    Side B alleges that they have a right to NOT be killed, oppressed or annihilated.

    So please tell us, WHICH side, side A or side B, would you rule in favor of.

    If you say side A, then you have violated the Constitution. If you say side B, then you have ruled that Islam is NOT a “religion” for 1st Amendment purposes.

In the old days , women used to mature at a younger age , sometimes by the age of 9 , ( sexual maturity ) , especially for those live in tropical countries , females menstruate at a very early age and like 2000 years ago , women used to get married very young regardless of the religion , and those were the traditions at such times. Nowadays , things have changed , general health status of humans is not the same , economic expectations are different , societal requirements are different , education and cultural factors have changed, the relationship between men and women , marital affairs and family as a whole. accusing Muslims of such a thing is not fair. Some people follow what they have been raised on , without trying to educate themselves about what GOD really wants them to follow , they ignore all current facts and confine themselves to what they have been taught regardless if it is right or wrong, regardless if GOD wants you to follow it or not , ignoring the last message of GOD and criticizing it without trying to learn about it and verify it, keep living and following practices or teachings that have been either invented by humans or changed by them , disbelieving in what GOD send to us all as a mercy. some people are just following what is convenient and easy regardless of the truth. some know for sure that there is a truth but they deny it out of hate. some are deceived and being misguided. If He took them to task (now) for what they earn, He would hasten on the doom for them; but theirs is an appointed term from which they will find no escape.

    Quran – Chapter 19:
    And they say: The Beneficent hath taken unto Himself a son. (88) Assuredly ye utter a disastrous thing (89) Whereby almost the heavens are torn, and the earth is split asunder and the mountains fall in ruins, (90) That ye ascribe unto the Beneficent a son, (91) When it is not meet for (the Majesty of) the Beneficent that He should choose a son. (92) There is none in the heavens and the earth but cometh unto the Beneficent as a slave. (93) Verily He knoweth them and numbereth them with (right) numbering. (94) And each one of them will come unto Him on the Day of Resurrection, alone. (95) Lo! those who believe and do good works, the Beneficent will appoint for them love. (96)

    Chapter 59 :
    He is Allah, than Whom there is no other God, the Knower of the Invisible and the Visible. He is the Beneficent, Merciful. (22) He is Allah, than Whom there is no other God, the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One, Peace, the Keeper of Faith, the Guardian, the Majestic, the Compeller, the Superb. Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him). (23) He is Allah, the Creator, the Shaper out of naught, the Fashioner. His are the most beautiful names. All that is in the heavens and the earth glorifieth Him, and He is the Mighty, the Wise. (24)
