Podcast of Catch Kevin Radio Show 12/5/11: Dr. Tom’s War

Listen here for an amazing show with the author of Dr. Tom’s War: A Daughter’s Journey—Lucia Viti—and two decorated Marine officers who served with her heroic father. Learn about her incredible seven-year journey as she posthumously meets with the Marines who both commanded and served under Dr. Tom Viti—a Battalion Surgeon for the Second Battalion Fifth Marine Regiment in An Hoa, South Vietnam.

This is a heartwarming show that captures the incredible heroism of Dr. Tom who won as many hearts and lives as he saved—both his comrades and his enemies, the Viet Cong.

Listen to this show and view a controversial war through the lenses of a loving and compassionate hero as told by not only my guests, but by the anecdotal stories of the men who had the honor and the privilege to serve with this unsung hero. It was my honor and privilege to read this very personal book, and hear the testimony of the decorated officers who served with Dr. Tom Viti. Be blessed, listen to this show and read this book.

Until next time . . . Wake Up America!

“One fateful day, Lucia Viti stumbled upon an ancient Harry & David fruit box while cleaning the attic. The box was filled with Vietnam memorabilia-the remnants of her father’s tour of duty in 1967 as a Battalion Surgeon in An Hoa. Lucia became obsessed with a need to reconnect with the memories of her father and spent four years traveling across America, gathering stories from the Marines of the Second Battalion Fifth Marine Regiment, First Marine Division who served alongside her father. This quest to learn about a Dr. Tom she never knew turned into a unique journey of discovery through the eyes of a very special brotherhood of young men. A journey that weaves the Marine esprit de corps with the horrors and humor of war with a first-hand, no-holds-barred perspective on combat life in Vietnam in 1967.”

Can’t wait to see this amazing story about a hero who shares no hate with his fellow man. I just know I will enjoy the heartfelt consideration of this Doctor who saw only people needing his caring hands. The unsung hero who looked for no special recognition for his work. I am certain this will be a heartfelt story that no one will want to miss.

This oustanding tribute to lovingly BRAVE Marines in combat not knowing what their future would bring them day to day, is a favorite Book on my facebook ‘Info’ page. LUCIA VITI granted me a pre-publication edition of ‘Dr. Tom’s War – A Daughter’s Journey’ ..and it is just OUTSTANDING. It now makes a superb follow-up to ‘VIETNAM in HD’ which airs on The History Channel, available in DVD and Blue Ray HD at bookstores and online. In this also OUTSTANDING TV Series War Correspondent JOSEPH GALLOWAY most lovingly shares our “WE WERE SOLDIERS” Battle of IA DRANG-1965 “They were noble” story ..as living testimony to an unsuspecting American audience. ‘Dr. Tom’s War – A Daughter’s Joruney’ = Same-Same..!!!
