If you would listen to what he is saying, you might change your mind. He is for dealing with the illegals. He is being open and honest that we have to deal with this issue, however, rounding up illegals will never pass in the congress and senate. He wants to deal with it and even last night he said what u are wanting will never pass. We didnt get millions of illegals over night and we will not fix it over night. If you would go back and watch some of Newt's older youtubes from the 80s and 90s u will see he has been addressing this issue and how it is hurting our country for over 30 yrs.

I really feel sorry for conservatives that are tricked into Newts smoke shield. Btw, Ron Paul confronted the Newts statements that he balance the budget after doing some research. Dr. Paul stopped short of calling him a liar but did make Newt aknowledge that he never truly balance the budget those four years but was really using Social Security to manipulate the numbers. Truth is the budget hasn't been balanced since the father of an unbalance budget first created it, Reagan. Yes, a man the conservatives constantly use as an example economic policy got us started on this path!!! Pay it later. I found it funny that on one hand the article spoke of Iran's nuclear ambitions, suggesting Newt is the only one with the balls to go to war with another country and later expressing his true conservatism and interest in following the constitution. Yet he can't both start another conflict and follow the constitution. The truth is Newt is called a progressive b/c when it is time to walk the walk his voting record shows him to be a progressive, not a fiscal conservative. Most of the concerns in this article are valid but he got the candidate wrong!!! There is one candidate that has always voted down legistlation that was in conflict with the constitution for 30 years. Only one that served his country in the military. Only one that is a Doctor. Only that has promised to repeal anti-freedom legistlation like the Patriot Act. Only one that believes taxes should return to Zero. Only one that will end this money draining conflicts that never seem to end!!! That man in Ron Paul 2012!!! Let's return to true conservstism!!! Small Government and fiscal responsibility in the House, Senate and Executive Branch!!!
Ron Paul 2012!!!

Here are some quotes by Newt Gingrich on illegal immigration and amnesty:

“No serious citizen who’s concerned about solving this problem should get trapped into a yes/no answer in which you’re either for totally selling out protecting America or you’re for totally kicking out 20 million people in a heartless way. There are — there are humane, practical steps to solve this problem, if we can get the politicians and the news media to just deal with it honestly.”
June 13, 2011, Gingrich speaking on the GOP New Hampshire Presidential Debate

“We are not going to deport 11 million people. There has to be some zone between deportation and amnesty… Let’s find someone who actually knows what they’re doing… It should be possible for any employer, anyone in the United States, as fast as you swipe your ATM card to get cash, to swipe a card to know whether or not they’re able to hire you
December 2, speaking at The Americano.com First Annual Hispanic Forum 2010, Washington

U.S. Mexico Border Fence-
“I am deeply committed to securing the border… I am deeply committed to changing the deportation rules for felons and gang members… But I also think we have a huge challenge — what do you do with the human beings who are engaged, some of whom are married, have children? It’s a very complicated situation, and I don’t you think you can just wave a magic wand and have some kind of a simple, clean answer

He is NOT soft on immigration. He absolutely wants our borders secured and will have it done by Jan 1, 2014. That's one year after talking office. He will send the 25,000 TSA people who populate Washington down to work the border. And his method of handling current illegal immigrants is practical. He wants to use the credit card companies to create a card check system because they know how to do it and have a .03 percent error rate. What you are calling "amnesty" is not. Think about it yourself. You probably have friends in your own church, elderly people who may have come here years ago and have a couple generations of family now. Whether you know it or not, many of them were illegal then and have never done anything to become legal. He would not tear those families apart, but instead, as long as they have not engaged in any criminal activity, have paid taxes, and have a citizen willing to sponsor them, he would give them a residency permit. They would NOT become citizens and would not have the right to vote or do anything else that requires citizenship. To become a citizen, they would have to go back home and wait in line. But he also wants to simplify the process for those who want to come here the legal way. It makes a lot of sense for a complex problem.

I disagree with him on the idea of "requiring" everyone to have some sort of insurance unless that insurance could be simply a catastrophic plan. The problem with health care is not the health insurance as the two are constantly and erroneously blended. The problem is the actual cost of the health care--doctors, hospitals, etc., has gone through the roof as all these facilities charge outrageous prices because they know insurance will pay for it. That forces the cost of insurance up. A cost analysis needs to be done and the amounts hospitals, doctors, etc., charge, needs to be brought down, but not by regulation. Bring it down by free market principles and by letting doctors and hospitals compete for their patients by offering lower prices to those who pay for part of their own costs.

There are times that CONTROLLED borders and immigration could be of an advantage. Work permits that are obtained after extensive background investigation and the right of law enforcement to stop and demand the work permit are essential. This accomplishes two things. It controls who is in this country and whether or not the worker is who he claims to be. The worker would have to agree that he is the one applying for the permit and not his family. He would not be eligible for any benifits except workmen's comp for confirmed injuries ON THE JOB. The worker should return to his home each time his work shift is over. If the worker lives too far from the workplace to do this, He should have a special permit to stay in this country overnite at a boarding facility provided by the employer, as opposed to anywhere the worker chooses. They would be subject to PBA testing by law enforcement. They are here to work, not to party.

Vehicles driven by worker would be required to meet the safety inspection standards of the state they work in and display a special sticker that it is a vehicle for transporting the worker to and from his home to his job, not for joy riding. Commercial Vehicles would be subject to DOT requirements, the same as commercial vehicles in this country and operated by a driver with a current CDL of the class required for the vehicle. Perhaps, if they were subject to all of OUR laws when they are in OUR country, they wouldn't be so eager to come here.

As for Newt Gingrich’s personal shortcomings, let he who hasn’t sinned cast the first stone. I’m not voting for a priest, I’m voting for a president.

Well stated. Conservative Christian voters need to understand that God did not remove King David after his transgressions (not even during them!). I'd rather have a repentant sinner than an unrepentant flip-flopper for president. Now if I can just get my devotion for Santorum to abate...

A very informative and comprehensive look into the truth of a candidate completely void of the spin and fallacy of the liberal propaganda machine which twists, skews and selects those points which best advance their untruths. One of the primary characteristics of a conservative, if such a characteristic can be defined, is that a conservative is flexible based on what is best for our country, freedom, liberty and way of life. If it isn't working, a conservative is more willing to admit the mistake and make the change. I believe that Newt is that conservative and his record and his words have done nothing to dissuade that belief. This is a very good article that focuses on fact and record and that is all that any Patriotic American needs to concern themselves with!
